What is a Flood Elevation Certificate?
A Flood Elevation Certificate documents the elevation of your building for local building ordinances as well as for insurance rating purposes. Buildings with lower elevations run a greater risk for flooding.
Citizens is now requiring flood insurance for policy holders with property in a flood zone. Soon all policies with Citizens will require flood insurance. At Ellenbogen Inspections, we can help you get the necessary Flood Elevation Certificate accurately and quickly.
We are now partnering with a reputable Surveyor to complete Flood Elevation Certificate for Citizens policy holders or any individual or business in need of a Flood Elevation Certificate.
What does the inspector need prior to the inspection?
The flood surveyor will need to know about the access to property. Is it a gated community? Manned or code? Are there gates to go into the backyard? Are there dogs?
What will the inspector be doing?
The Surveyor, usually comprised of a team of two people, will be using instruments to measure various points of the property to determine what elevations they are to record to produce a completed certificate to FEMA for binding.
