What is a Flood Elevation Certificate?
A Flood Elevation Certificate for flood insurance documents the elevation of your building for local building ordinances as well as for insurance rating purposes. Buildings with lower elevations run a greater risk for flooding.

What does the inspector need prior to the inspection?
The flood surveyor will need to know about the access to property. Is it a gated community? Manned or code? Are there gates to go into the backyard? Are there dogs?
What will the inspector be doing?
The Surveyor, usually comprised of a team of two people, will be using instruments to measure various points of the property to determine what elevations they are to record to produce a completed certificate to FEMA for binding.
